The Jagiellonian University’s Senate session at Auditorium Maximum

The Jubilee Senate session will begin with the addresses by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University, Prof. Wojciech Nowak and the President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski. The Senate will present the gold medal Plus Ratio Quam Vis to the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso. The presentation ceremony will be followed by special addresses by Prof. Stephen C. Dunnett (Vice-Provost for International Education University of Buffalo) and the President of the Conference of Rectors of the Academic Schools in Poland, Prof. Wiesław Banyś. Another important part of the ceremony will be the presentation of honorary doctorates to Prof. Robert Huber and Prof Witold Kieżun. For services to Małopolska region, the  Jagiellonian University will receive the Gold Medal of Merit, which is to be presented to the Rector of the JU, Prof. Wojciech Nowak by the Marshall of the Małopolskie Voivodeship, Marek Sowa, and the Chairman of Małopolska Regional Assembly, Kazimierz Barczyk.
